Good Technology Expands the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform – More Dev Support and Ecosystem Integration
News out of Good Technology just keeps rolling out. The Sunnyvale-based company is a leader in mobile enterprise technology. Their comprehensive line of secure mobility solutions and ongoing innovations designed for the enterprise have been joined by the announcement of support for the IBM MobileFirst Application platform- IBM Worklight 6.0.
IBM Worklight provides app developers with support across multiple mobile operating environments and devices with the simplicity of a shared code base. With Worklight, developers can efficiently build, run and manage HTML5, hybrid and native apps and and integrate them with the growing ecosystem of third-party tools, libraries, and frameworks, including Good Dynamics.
This technology is delivered in collaboration with the IBM MobileFirst Ecosystem initiative, and it means that for the first time ever Worklight 6.0 applications can now leverage and integrate best-in-class enterprise functionality, including containerization, secure communication, and policy management. The Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform makes this possible through the PhoneGap plugin. Developers can get step by step instructions on how to create and secure Worklight applications and then deploy them to internal enterprise users or submit them to the App Store for general distribution. With increased developer support and ecosystem integration, for those that are looking to ensure that their apps in these scenarios- whether native, hybrid or HTML5, are secured and enterprise ready, this will certainly be a well adopted technology.
“By leveraging Good Dynamics to build and deploy apps, developers can speed delivery and ensure industry-leading levels of protection and compliance are integrated into their apps,” said John Herrema, senior vice president of product management at Good Technology. “We aim to extend these capabilities to the leading mobile development platforms, tools, and communities and supporting IBM Worklight and its growing community of developers is helping us do that.”
“In a matter of just a few days, we were able to secure our existing IBM Worklight compatible app ClearConcert™ for IBM Rational Team Concert using the Good Dynamics platform and were pleased with how simple it really is,” said Aaron Allsbrook, Chief Technology Officer for ClearBlade, Inc., a leading mobile application and MBaaS platform provider. “Many corporate customers cannot fully deploy pieces of our technology without addressing the issue of security and Good Dynamics combined with IBM Worklight gives us the full suite of tools to meet their needs.”
