WebOS sees new life in smart homes, leverages 1 million user milestone

If you thought WebOS was dead, you are dead wrong.  When LG acquired it from HP, the South Korean company brought it back to life by integrating it with its Smart+ TV line which has now sold over one million units.  LG expects sales of its Smart+ TV line to increase as it rolls out in new markets by the end of the month.

New tools support the business of wearable tech

QuickLogic and Salesforce announced new tools for developers and OEMs to better position themselves in the wearable tech market.  QuickLogic introduced a new sensor hub algorithm while Salesforce introduced a new wearable tech developer kit.  Also, there’s a new wearable device that fuses fashion and functionality.

There’s a new system called Comfy coming to office buildings that could help employees control how cold or warm they want the workplace to be. The best part is that each employee can set the temperature in his or her office space to a specific preference without affecting others nearby.  Comfy can be controlled using a mobile or web app and learns preferences the more it is used and can also reduce energy consumption and cost.

Utility + consumer services blend in Smart IT era

Sprint is stepping up its efforts to deliver better services as well as come up with more efficient products for its mobile consumers, partnering with ItsOn Inc.  Via the multi-year partnership, Sprint will integrate ItsOn’s SaaS cloud solution into its existing network architecture to enhance operations through a centralized management interface called the Service Design Center.
