For those who missed last week’s Smart World Series, here’s a chance to catch up on the exciting developments in the connected world. Each week, SiliconANGLE rounds up the top news trends regarding smart homes and cars, smart data centers and IT, smart infrastructure and all things related to the Internet of Things.
Peepholes reinvented, hotel rooms go keyless
Doors around the door are being reinvented. Gone are the days when you have to squint through a peephole, thanks to Brinno Inc.’s PeepHole Viewer. The image of your visitor is displayed on a small LCD screen, and can be retrofitted to existing peepholes making for an affordable and easy upgrade.
Hotel doors are also being updated with keyless entry. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.’s SPG Keyless allows guests to go directly to their rooms upon arrival and open their room doors using their smartphones.
In other smart home news, the new AliGro Planter provides a mess-free and hands-free watering of plants.

Also featured in the roundup is Kiqplan, a software platform with four programs, each designed to help motivate people to get rid of their beer bellies or stay fit during pregnancy.
