From an Adobe Labs statement, Adobe has highlighted the following benefits of HTML5 pack for Illustartor CS5:
- Efficiently design for web and devices by exporting Illustrator Artboards for unique screen sizes using SVG and CSS3 media queries.
- Create web widgets with Illustrator by generating dynamic vector art for data driven web work-flows.
- Take advantage of the latest enhancements to SVG and Canvas to generate interactive web content.
- Map artwork appearance attributes from designer to developer tools—export from the Illustrator Appearance Panel to CSS3 for streamlined styling of web pages.
Recently, we have been hearing a lot of buzz about Flash vs HTML5. It all started from the ban on ported flash applications on Apple’s iOS. This got us to re-review the latest trends in development. The biggest benefit of HTML5 over flash is device compatibility. Designs made in HTML5 can be viewed on mobile devices and more easily on all screen sizes. Though, Adobe has been slow to release the full HTML5 pack , yet, this is a major milestone in making and implementing open industry standards.
