These 3 startups aim to make travel simple, stress-free and more fun
Travel can be fun, but if you travel too much, you can get sick of packing and unpacking, struggle to keep track of itineraries or simply get tired of doing the same old activities. These three startups want to help you out. From making sure you never have to pack a suitcase again to uncovering unique things to do, they’re bound to make your trips simple, stress-free and fun.
Dufl
If you’re a frequent traveler who hates the annoyance of constantly packing and unpacking a suitcase, Dufl has a clever solution that’ll ensure you never have to pack or unpack your own suitcase again. Simply supply Dufl with the items you usually pack and they will store them until your next trip. When it comes time to travel, select the items Dufl should pack in the Dufl iPhone app and they will pack and deliver your suitcase via FedEx to your hotel. At the end of your trip Dufl collects your suitcase from your hotel, cleans all the items and stores them until your next trip.
The company has been running beta testing, but now plans to launch across the U.S., and eventually worldwide. Founded in February this year, Dufl has raised a total of $2.5 million in seed funding.
Itinographer
Itinographer aims to make planning your next trip simpler. Itinographer brings together all your travel information scattered around Google Maps, Google Calendar and various notes apps and places it into a web and iPhone app. The web app sketches out your entire itinerary, including map locations with links to the relevant item on your timeline. Before leaving on your trip, you simply download your timeline to the iPhone app and all the information is available on the go.
The travel-planning tool is currently only available for early access users, but you can sign up on their site.
BubbleGlobe
Companies like ToursByLocals, Vayable and SideTour allow you to book authentic travel experiences led by local people, and now a new startup has thrown its hat in the ring too. BubbleGlobe, launched last December, offers around 100 experiences across five cities. What sets BubbleGlobe apart are the unique experiences it offers, including exploring Rome on the back of a vintage Vespa, being a Brooklyn Hipster and exploring the Costa Brava Cove.
