Would you like Candy Crush with Win10? you won’t have a choice
Would you like Candy Crush with your copy of Windows 10? If the answer is no, tough luck, because you’re not going to have a choice.
Microsoft announced Thursday that King Digital Entertainment PLC’s Candy Crush Saga will come preinstalled with all copies of Windows 10.announced Thursday that King Digital Entertainment PLC’s Candy Crush Saga will come preinstalled with all copies of Windows 10.
“We’re excited to be able to announce today that King will bring their game, Candy Crush Saga, to Windows 10” a blog post states, before adding “Candy Crush Saga will be automatically installed for customers that upgrade to or download Windows 10 during the launch!”
While being sold as a consumer benefit, the move may have more to do with the ongoing problem Microsoft has had in getting quality games into its Windows and Windows Phone app stores; having Candy Crush preinstalled may have been the give Microsoft had to make to get King to come to the table with a deal.
That a deal has been made is a given: the post also notes that “over time, other popular and awesome King game titles will be available for Windows 10.”
The reaction has been mixed, with Geekwire noting that “Microsoft followers are objecting to the automatic installation of the game, at a time when more PC users are trying to avoid the preinstalled ‘crapware’ that has traditionally shipped with Windows PCs.”
Candy Crushed
If you’re not familiar with Candy Crush, the game is a match-three puzzle video game that is hughly popular even three years after its initial release.
Deotees love the game, often, to the annoance of others, inviting non-players to join them on Facebook to play it.
Those who don’t like Candy Crush really, really don’t like it, but no matter where you sit on the love it/ hate it spectrum, there’s no doubting its success.

Bringing it to Windows 10 is not a world changing item of note, but it is unlikely to be welcomed by many Windows users, particularly those in enterprise.
Candy Crush Saga will be installed by default in Windows 10 by default at launch.
