To the moon! Pornhub seeking $3.4m on Indiegogo to film world’s first space porno
Adult video streaming site Pornhub wants to take one small step for man, and one giant leap for pornography with a new crowdfunding campaign to raise money to shoot the world’s first pornography film in space.
The “Pornhub Space Program” project, known as “Sexploration” (we should note we’re not making any of this up,) aims to raise $3.4 million via an Indiegogo campaign to make a film featuring porn stars Eva Lovia and Johnny Sins as horny astronauts in zero gravity.
The money will be split primarily across the space portion of the film, with 60 percent going towards the costs of making the flight happen, including training and space suits for the crew as well as general space travel.
21 percent is being allocated to the actual production of the film, including “specially adapted gear” as well as the overall general costs needed in the “creation of a high quality sex tape.”
The rest will be allocated to perks for wages, funders perks, insurance, and Indiegogo’s fee.
“Our work is definitely cut out for us,” PornHub says. “We need to train and outfit our crew, consult with a dedicated team of specialists, purchase custom modified film equipment, and completely fund the use of the shuttle that’ll take us on our journey to space.”
The emphasis is ours because there is no mention of which space company they’ll be using to take them to space, even presuming they can find one who will agree to Pornhub filming a porn movie in space.
Balls
Something doesn’t quite sit right about the campaign, and it strikes us being a tongue in cheek marketing stunt.
For example they say they’re aiming to make the film in 2016, but commercial space flight companies that fly people to space aren’t even at that stage in 2015, and no matter how many times the likes of Virgin Galatic promise dates for being able to do so, none of them seem to ever meet their deadlines.
The only company or country able to put people in space for commercial purposes is Russia, and given under Putin the country has for all intents and purposes turned into a quasi dictatorial theocracy complete with enforced prudish Christian morality, you can’t see the Russians rising to the occasion and supporting the making of the film.
If, however, sex in space tickles your fancy and makes you hot under the collar to spend money, even with the silicon nature of what is being promised, supporter packages start from $1 through to a staggering $150,000, and include a variety of exclusives, merchandise and more.
At the time of writing the campaign had raised $4,852 with 60 days left to raise the $3.4 million.
