Smart World events we’re watching in August, 2015
The Internet of Things movement is getting bigger as we approach the Internet of Everything. Techies and layman alike are now getting with the program. Techies developing apps and products and consumers are the ones benefiting from things that connect to the Internet to make lives easier.
Still, there are many questions regarding IoT pondering the movement’s next steps, what this connected world means for personal security, and how it plays into business markets including the enterprise?

IoT Village DefCon
When: August 7-9, 2015
Where: Las Vegas, Nevada
What it is: Organized by security consulting and research firm Independent Security Evaluators (ISE), The IoT Village delivers thought leadership advocating for security advancements in Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
The village consists of workshops on hacking numerous off-the-shelf devices (e.g. medical devices, home appliances, routers, and storage devices), live educational talks and a variety of contests. ISE’s IoT Village is inspired by SOHOpelessly Broken, the first-ever router hacking contest at DEF CON, which delivered 15 new 0-day vulnerabilities to the research community.
