Custom iPad Pro accessories: Early cases and keyboards
The iPad Pro was among the handful of devices Apple unveiled last Wednesday. The 12.9-inch screen tablet boasts more productivity features than its predecessors, plus you can purchase a Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil (Apple’s term for its proprietary stylus) to facilitate more ways of getting things done (see how Apple’s iPad Pro stacks up to rival Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 tablet here).
The iPad Pro is targeted at the enterprise, but no one is stopping consumers from purchasing the tablet, provided they’re not turned off by the price. The iPad Pro is not set to hit store shelves until November of this year, but the accessory ecosystem surrounding Apple’s latest iDevice is already bubbling with excitement.
Early accessories for the iPad Pro
WaterField Designs’s custom-fitted cases
WaterField Designs has five new cases that perfectly fit the iPad Pro, its Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil stylus. WaterField’s new lineup includes the new Dash sleeve, Ultimate SleeveCase, Suede Jacket, Travel Express, and Outback Solo with prices ranging from as low as $15 up to $89. These cases can be used on their own or used to stow the iPad Pro inside another bag.
The cases offers different types of protection: for example, the Dash offers rugged protection without the bulk. All of the cases have special linings that prevent the screen from being scratched, have special compartments for the accessories and all are lightweight for portability.
Logitech’s CREATE for iPad Pro
Logitech has worked closely with Apple to create this keyboard, thus it utilizes the iPad Pro’s new Smart Connector.
The Smart Connector allows the keyboard to magnetically attach to the tablet so no pairing is required. It promises to deliver “world-class typing experience” which Logitech is known for. The CREATE keyboard will be available the same day as the iPad Pro. Pricing and features have not yet been disclosed.
Zagg’s iPad keyboards
Zagg, Inc. announced that by November, two new keyboards will be available for the iPad Pro. The Messenger Universal will be available for $69.99 and the Slim Book Pro will cost $139.99. What makes these keyboards standout from what others offers is that it includes device protection, 135° of viewing angles, back-lit keys and a powerful two-year battery life. Zagg will also offer an InvisibleShield screen protector and other power and audio accessories for the iPad Pro.
