Huawei Nexus 6P leak: images, metal body, Gorilla Glass 4, large battery, more
Google is expected to unveil two new Nexus devices at an event tomorrow but, thanks to numerous leaks, there is very little that we don’t already know about the two phones. Even the names, the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P, have been confirmed.
The latest leak, in the form of a set of slides intended for use by retail employees, details the hardware specifications and shares new photos of the Huawei Nexus 6P.
Here’s everything we know about Huawei’s Nexus 6P:
The Nexus 6P is the larger of the new Nexus phones debuting tomorrow and features a 5.7-inch WQHD (or Quad HD) AMOLED display covered in Gorilla Glass 4 and sports a large 3,450 mAh battery and an all-metal body.

For charging and data transfer, the device has the new USB Type-C connection in the place of a microUSB connector and while the slides do not mention it specifically, it is widely expected that the Nexus 6P will include Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology since it is part of the Snapdragon 810 processor the device has onboard.
Other features include dual front-ported speakers, round fingerprint sensor, and a choice between 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of onboard storage.

Previous leaks have revealed that the Nexus 6P will come in a choice of aluminum, graphite, frost, and gold color options; however, the slides suggest that the gold option will initially only be available in Japan.
The slides revealed a few more details about the Nexus 6P, including that the 178 gram device will be narrower and thinner than its predecessor, the Nexus 6, measuring in at 159.4 x 77.8 x 7.3 millimeters.
We’ve already mentioned the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and the slides confirm this will be coupled with 3GB of RAM.
As for the camera specs, the rear-facing camera is a 12.3-megapixel unit which Google says “allows in more light.” This likely indicates a f/2.0 lens. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel unit with 1.4 μM pixels. The Google slides also tout a faster Google Camera app.

The Nexus 6P will ship with Google’s latest iteration of Android, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which natively supports a fingerprint sensor and included Now on Tap for faster access to Google Now.
Other features include Doze, which puts the device to sleep when it’s not in use to prolong battery life, and App Standby, which functions much the same but targets individual apps to extend battery life.
Now all Google has to reveal tomorrow is how much the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will cost and when and where they will be available.
