Smart building platform maker Lucid welcomes new CEO

Smart building platform provider Lucid is getting a new CEO. Will Coleman, founder of Onramp Capital and former partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, has been named as the company’s new head. Outgoing CEO Vladi Shunturov will be stepping into the role of president to continue his work expanding Lucid’s channel partnerships and driving its technology innovation priorities.

Coleman has been part of the company since 2013, acting as an advisor, independent director, and Chair of Lucid’s board. He has brought GE Ventures and Autodesk in as investors, and kicked off the company’s rapid expansion into the enterprise.

Lucid offers BuildingOS, a suite of cloud-based applications that allows diverse teams to drive action from data and guides them to make better decisions about building optimization, planning, and tenant engagement. It features Utility Bill Management, which simplifies the analysis of bill trends and checks the accuracy of monthly bills; Building Efficiency Solution that uses real-time data to identify operational efficiency opportunities in buildings and drive action from the data; and Occupant Engagement to empowers occupants to become active participants in energy management.

This year, Lucid has added more than 6,000 buildings to its BuildongOS platform expanding beyond education and municipal customers into Fortune 1,000 and commercial real estate properties. Just over the last few months, Lucid has on-boarded LeFrak Properties, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, and NRG, as well as thecities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver and Orlando as customers.

Aside from Coleman, Lucid has added industry veterans such as Shelly Davenport (Salesforce, Success Factors) as head of sales and Aaron DeYonker (Siemens, eMeter, Microsoft) as head of product.
