Apple’s ‘Future of Television’ ad highlights tvOS apps and content
Since its launch in October, Apple has been working hard to promote the new fourth-generation Apple TV, including the likes of social media campaigns, billboards, and short ads. Apple has now shared its latest one-minute long Apple TV ad entitled “The Future of Television” that looks to highlight the latest generation TV, the variety of content and apps available on tvOS and the dedicated tvOS App Store.
The one-minute ad shows glimpses of various television series including “Narcos,” “The Simpsons,” “Orange is the New Black” and “House of Cards,” among others. Featured movies include “Ant Man,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” and a real oldie “The Wizard of Oz”. The ad also briefly shows off the Siri capabilities when the user asks to see the best sci-fi movies.
The ad then focuses its attention on the various games supported on tvOS including Guitar Hero, Asphalt Racing and Disney Infinity 3.0. Apple Music makes an appearance with a cameo spot from Kendrick Lamar and we also get a look at the tvOS app switcher and the main tvOS home screen.
Throughout the ad, Apple features the brightly colored test pattern bars, made up of colors borrowed from their previous colorful logo. Apple continues with the test pattern bar trend that has been a common sight in its previous Apple TV ads.
