Samsung takes lightness to another level with its two new laptops
At CES 2016 this week, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled two ludicrously light laptops, the 13.3-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9s, weighing just 850 grams and 1.29 kg, respectively. The two laptops Samsung says will become available with Windows 10 Pro sometime in the first half of 2016, although the company didn’t say anything about the cost.
To get an idea of the weight, or lack thereof, most of the first reviewers have been using the example that both devices can easily be picked up in one hand. We should also bear in mind that Apple’s “radical” 12-inch MacBook was 907 grams, and that was because many of the conventional ports were dumped. In the new Samusng devices, we are looking at something special in terms of weight and design. Still, we will wait until the machines are released this year before we say any more.
The magnesium-body devices will be available with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, pack sixth-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, and come with either a 5,120mAh battery (15-inch) or a 4,000 mAh battery (13.3-inch).
