Update: Ant Simulator was not funded directly through Kickstarter, but ETeeski LLC had been using funds from a campaign for a game development video series as seed money for the Ant Simulator project.

Original Article: Indie game projects fail all the time, but virtual reality indie game Ant Simulator seems to have failed even more spectacularly than most after some of the team allegedly wasted all of the game’s budget on booze and entertainment.

Lead programmer Eric Tereshinski recently uploaded a video to YouTube where he accused his partners of stealing and squandering the money that was supposed to go toward Ant Simulator’s development.

“I recently found out that my ex-business partners were secretly stealing company money,” Tereshinski said in the video. “They had secretly spent the overwhelming majority of both our Kickstarter money and the Ant Simulator investment money on liquor, restaurants, bars, and even strippers.”

“This, among many other reasons, is the reason why it has become exceedingly clear to me that I cannot have my career associated with these guys.”

In response to YouTube comments suggesting that he seek legal council regarding the alleged actions of his business partners, Tereshinski claimed that the contract he signed with them has left him no recourse.

“They went over the contract line by line with me and I reviewed the whole thing twice,” he said. “I just didn’t realize they had protected themselves, screwed me (like the fact that they listed themselves as consultants, so they aren’t legally obligated to work on anything, but still have the rights to spend money ect.), and I had no idea what their plan was until it was too late.”

While the internet crusaders are already reaching for their pitchforks, Tereshinski has not offered any proof that his partners were involved in any wrongdoing, and it is surprisingly difficult to find any information about Ant Simulator or its creators. The developer’s official Twitter account seems to have suddenly stopped updating in October 2015, and its Facebook page has not been updated in nearly a year.

That does not necessarily mean that Tereshinski is not telling the truth, but we are currently hearing only one side of the story, and there does not seem to be any way to verify his claims.
