VCE to announce ‘face-melting’ news on February 16 | #thecube

VMware, Inc.’s launch of Virtual SAN (VSAN) 6.2 has garnered much fanfare in the industry, but VCE Company, LLC President Chad Sakac has a small bone to pick: “They should have called this VSAN face-melting edition.”

Sakac told Stu Miniman, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, that the new VSAN raises the bar by incorporating several key changes. The most important of which, he says, is the conversion to all-flash. “We’ve clearly crossed kind of a Rubicon into the era where all-flash configurations are the way to go,” according to Sakac.

He also noted data reduction and data efficiency as major areas of advancement in the VSAN 6.2.

Sakac spoke about VCE’s efforts to meet customers’ demands for more and more turnkey IT. He enumerated three main models: software only, qualified with server, and fully hyper-converged appliances.

Drum roll please …

Sakac excitedly related to host Miniman that VCE will be introducing their next big thing in a matter of days — February 16 to be exact.

“Stay tuned,” he said, because on that date the company has plans for something big — or as Sakac would say, “face-melting.”
