Logitech Introduces the World’s First Solar Keyboard
Logitech, working its way back to the forefront of consumer interest, introduced the world’s first solar keyboard, the $80 Logitech K750. It is something that has created quite a hush as the holiday shopping season nears.
Only 1/3-inch thick, the keyboard is powered by its built-in solar panels. It can be used indoors, after being charged by light, even for a period of three months in darkness. It includes a solar power app which also features a lux meter that will monitor the power level and gives quick reminders about the battery level.
“The keyboard is still the best input device for typing emails and IMs, updating your Facebook™ page or posting responses to your favorite blogs – and the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 is the next big innovation in keyboard technology,” said Denis Pavillard, vice president of product marketing for Logitech’s keyboards and desktops. “The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard is powered by light but can work in total darkness for up to three months. Plus, with its PVC-free construction and fully recyclable packaging, it’s designed to minimize its footprint.”
Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 has 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity and includes 128-bit AES encryption for security. This has been a popular announcement from Logitech right after last month’s release of Logitech Revue, its own rendition of Google TV remote control, which has been also made available for Android.
