Dell Acquires SaaS Company, Boomi

Technology and business solutions key player, Dell has just announced its latest adventure, and it wasn’t Rackspace: the acquisition of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) integration leader Boomi. This buy-out was triggered by Dell’s intention to reap the full value of cloud computing. Boomi is the sole platform in the industry that diminishes the cost and complication of joining applications together by allowing simple transport of information between cloud-based and on-premise applications without the presence of appliances, software and coding required. Boomi is powered by its very own AtomSphere Technology.

“With the acquisition of Boomi AtomSphere technology, Dell reinforces that role at a time when more enterprises are seeking a path to cloud computing. Dell is a key partner to salesforce.com, and we look forward to its technologies helping businesses worldwide realize the benefits of the cloud.”

In an interview after Dell’s acquisition, Boomi President and CEO Bob Moul said, “The Boomi team is thrilled to be joining the Dell family. This was a fantastic outcome for the team, our customers and partners. Dell gives us the global platform to continue to scale Boomi AtomSphere as the leading integration solution in the SaaS and cloud computing industry.”

Boomi systems and applications are currently being utilized by Salesforce CRM, as well as marketing, financial, human resources, content management and service-desk management. With the privilege of working directly with customers and through its budding network of channel providers, Boomi garners millions of contract each month. It has already fulfilled thousands of cloud integrations in the world for various industries and within different spectra.
