IO data center as a platform conference coming Sept. 13 in Menlo Park
I’m excited to share that @theCUBE will be broadcasting live at a special event in Silicon Valley at the Rosewood Hotel in Menlo Park called Data Center as a Platform Conference. The event is an exclusive event for CxOs and IT datacenter managers looking for new ways to manage the growth of datacenter and cloud computing as the foundation for new world of cloud, mobile, data, and social.
Datacenter as a Service Opportunity
Today’s connected applications and tomorrow’s internet of everything demand datacenter platforms that are more versatile than ever before. Data center as a service (DCaaS) is the provision of offsite physical data center facilities and infrastructure to clients. Clients rent or lease access to the provider’s data center, using the servers, networking, storage and other computing resources owned by the DCaaS provider.
The trend around Data Center as a Service is that companies are looking to be productive in a slowing economy yet continue their focus on build for growth. IT staff is also looking to shift the business model from building their own data centers which is a capital intensive model to shifting that investment to more of a cloud subscription model which is about turning that investment into an operating expenses.
The migration of application design to cloud native technologies requires a fundamental change in the design, deployment, and management of the data center that can stretch from legacy applications to next generation multi-cloud micro services. This Cloud Native Data Center design must accommodate dynamic topologies that can easily scale, are highly connected and provide for a commercial and regulatory framework that supports the business technology need.
During this event, hosted by IO, key decision makers will inform and encourage a thoughtful discussion around the data center of the future.
