PowerCloud’s Spin Out the PARC

PARC is expanding with a PowerCloud launch intended to offer cloud-managed networking solutions for small and medium businesses, including security and functionality features, at very low costs. The investors’ role is played by Walden Venture Capital and Javelin Venture Partners. To be more specific, PARC includes two exclusive and eight shares patents.

As part of Startup PARC, PowerCloud is not a standard package, but innovates a customized partnership with each venture it offers,  joining up different areas such as technical expertise, intellectual property, available research and many other commercial opportunities for which PARC received returns of money, royalties or license fees. Examples of StartupParc are Meshin, SolFocus, Powerset or PowerAssure.

From PARC’s party, Teresa Lunt, holding the vice president role, mentions that: “PARC has rich experience nurturing new companies and helping them commercialize their breakthroughs. PowerCloud Systems is continuing that legacy by solving the challenge of securely managing today’s proliferation of networked devices, a challenge that we have identified as critical to networking’s future. We look forward to seeing how customers will use this new technology to advance their networks.”

PowerCloud includes in its toolset cloud-based software: online platforms which facilitates the management and the configuration of networking equipments and resources at low prices. PowerCloud Systems is a spin-out from PARC that is funded by PARC, Walden Venture Capital and Javelin Venture Partners.
