In a released statement Seymour explains the reason behind the creation of the app, saying, “SachManya with its YAPPER mobile publishing platform was my first choice as a place to build Science Fun To Go.  It represents a new milestone in making it easier for my content to reach even more teachers, parents and science education professionals. And I know my primary audience — elementary school kids — will love reading my books in a digital format. I couldn’t be happier with the results of this new platform for my work.”

“We’re pleased to offer a robust, mobile-publishing platform for a wonderful man with amazing content like Seymour Simon. We’re providing a fast and affordable way for publishers, authors and brands to mobilize their content, engage with their communities and via in-app purchase monetize. Yapper, the brainchild of SachManya, is a user-driven tool that permits clients to create applications that can be used on a variety of platforms. Yapper is a testament of the growing popularity of e-readers and how it can be attributed to e-reading capabilities. For the kids market in particular, we’re seeing growing interest from publishers and other industries, as they take to mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones.

In another development in the digital publishing industry, which received a big boost from Google with a new e-bookstore.  This e-bookstore, together with Google eWeb reader, allows users to freely read e-books in multiple platforms, not to mention the access to over 3 million books Google has, compared to Amazon’s 750,000.

This free application will be made available to iPhone, iPad and Android. Users will also be privileged to access Seymour’s Blog, content from SeymourSimon.com, audience interactivity, exciting new “Read-To-Me” functionality, lots of hilarity— making it fun to learn and an enormous amount of content from the author whom the New York Times considers as “the Dean of the [children’s science book] field.”
