Samsung Improving Social Gaming Platform for Android Gadgets
A new partnership between Samsung and DeNA, a worldwide leader for social mobile games ,has been forged, taking the genre global with its growth efforts. Ngmoco’s social gaming platform is a big part of this deal, and is one of the first major releases since having been acquired by DeNA. It will be integrated on Samsung’s smartphones, running Android, in only a few months time. This collaboration is expected to increase the market share of Samsung handsets.
Kwanghyun Kwon, senior vice president of Media Solutions Center at Samsung Electronis commented the announcement:
“We are pleased to collaborate with ngmoco. As social gaming features rise in popularity and importance for mobile experiences, Samsung will continuously invest to provide the best experience to our consumers.”
ngmoco, the main game developer for iPhone, was recently acquired my DeNa Co. for $400 million. The Japanese company DeNa is at its third round of involvement in the U.S. market, after initiating the Gameview Studios deal. This strategy is behind the plan towards becoming the largest mobile social games platform to span the planet.
The teaming between ngmoco and Samsung is intended to attract more users for Android devices, for tablets and smartphones. Android gaming has yet to overpower the iPhone gaming drive, and Samsung’s proactive plan is likely to improve Android interest, and possibly bring business to more developers.
