QLogic Digs Deeper into the Cloud, Extends Product Availability with More Partners
QLogic announced today the certification of its 3200 Series 10GbE intelligent Ethernet adapters and 8200 Series 10GbE converged network adapters (CNAs) and their availability in HP ProLiant ML and DL rackmount and tower servers. These products were created to address the increasingly complex requirements of virtualized data centers, cloud service providers and the converged enterprise.
“As part of our Adaptive Convergence strategy, QLogic is providing flexible network resources across the enterprise that help convergence leaders deliver adaptable, autonomic and flexible IT environments,” said Amit Vashi, vice president, marketing, Host Solutions Group, QLogic. “QLogic 10GbE technology addresses new data, storage and server networking solutions that are optimized for virtualized data centers, converged enterprises and cloud computing environments.”
McLeod Glass, director of marketing, Industry Standard Servers, Enterprise Storage, Servers and Networking at HP states that the company made strenuous efforts to meed customer demands that “are looking for cost-effective data center network architectures that are both flexible and agile. To increase flexibility, HP ProLiant servers combined with QLogic’s 3GCNA automatically converge data and storage networks into one platform that addresses a variety of workloads while also providing variable connectivity options across the data center.”
Back in 2010, QLogic achieved a major benchmark with its InfiniBand product line in partnership with Acer, proving that QLogic is committed to expanding in the shortest time. Also in 2010 they announced their plan of targeting China, focusing on OEM and QLogic branded products.
This is all pushing the development of low-latency solutions in the virtual architecture market, which is being consolidated around InfiniBand products. Mellanox’s long-standing partnership with Voltaire has led to an acquisition.
