DEMO Spring 2011 Takes CRM, Big Data to the Next Level

The DEMO Spring 2011 conference held today brings together an extraordinary number of start-ups and inactive products under one roof, including, among others, Nimble. The start-up launched Nimble Contact into public data – a social CRM solution. The cloud-based offering integrates social networking, Google Apps, e-mail and business contacts, and aims to allow business users to better manage these elements in a single tab.

“Gerhard Gschwandtner, Editor, Selling Power Magazine, who said, “Nimble is a visionary product. Finally, someone has figured out Social CRM and made it simple, fun and efficient. I predict that Nimble will leapfrog all traditional CRM solutions.”

Nimble Contacts aggregates data from the cloud and social networks to streamline CRM into the social chart, but Nimble is not the only one following this trend at DEMO Spring. Workface, a Minn.-based web marketing solutions provider announced it’s demonstrating its Customer-initiated Engagement Platform at the conference today. The SaaS solution enables company sales personnel to engage prospects via 3rd sites, search engines and mobile, and also includes performance metrics and ROI monitoring tools.

Social/cloud data aggregation and content management are among the hottest trends in Silicon Valley, and Citrix is also jumping on board. Citrix has inked the first investment commitment made by Citrix Startup Accelerator with Primadesk, a personal cloud content management vendor. The start-up will demonstrate a beta of its upcoming application later today at DEMO Spring, which will reportedly enable users to “search, manage and backup cloud-based services from one centralized interface” across different platforms.

In the long-run, as the number of services such as Nimble Contact and Primadesk increase, they will drive demand around real-time and big data analysis in the personal cloud sector. This future is probably not that far away, considering that social analytics platform Kontagent exemplifies this trend. The company is adding real time functionality to its Facebook-centric social application motioning offering, which provides an insight to a given apps’ demographics based on users’ location, age groups, gender, engagement times, social event interaction and more.
