Business Tablet Apps Take You to the Cloud and Beyond: This Week’s Best

Tablets are gaining more and more traction in the personal, as well as professional space. With the recent launch of the Motorola Xoom in stores and the unveiling of the iPad 2, it becomes evident that tablets are about to be big, and business apps are not left behind. So, we’ve scooped up 5 of the most buzz worthy business tablet ups in this weekly list. Not all the apps are available for download just yet, but we have a pretty good idea what to expect when they launch.

Starting out with the iPad 2, cloud file server solutions provider Egnyte announced the launch of a new enterprise file access and collaboration app for Apple’s new tablet. The app reportedly features 256-bit AES encryption over SSL, online/offline access to company files, file server user management capabilities file, synchronized version tracking and so on. Egnyte indeed represents one of the latest steps in the enterprise’s adoption of consumer trends, but we haven’t left the gold iPad (1) behind.

Dropbox for iPad shares some certain traits with Egnyte, and is certainly a noteworthy app. The app allows users to export or send Dropbox-stored files to other apps, sync with their iPhone camera and view files online.

Right before we get to our Honeycomb business apps list, another iPad app worth highlighting is Cisco’s WebEx for iPad. The app enables users to invite to, attend and schedule video meetings as well as share files, and comes alongside Fuze Meeting – an Android Honeycomb meeting collaboration app. Fuze features 1080p HD multi-party video conferencing and the ability to initiate and host meetings directly from one’s device.

To top this off, Intuit introduced GoPayment to Google’s tablet OS, an app which enables users to sell products and accept credit cards directly from other Android tablets. This represents a pretty strong evidence Visa’s and other credit card companies’ huge investments in the online payment space were not in vein.
