Digi-Capital releases augmented and virtual reality market analytics dashboard
Silicon Valley-based augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed-reality analysis company Digi-Capital LLC announced Monday the launch of its industry data dashboard and Analytics Platform for businesses just starting out, established enterprise management, investors and others.
With this dashboard, it is possible to get information about any segment of the AR/VR industry at a glance with more than 500,000 data points across hardware, software, platforms, business models, products and services.
The platform was originally soft-launched at a private event at Google in late May, but now it’s publicly available to cover the needs of anyone interested in the AR/VR industry.
“Data and analytics to support the industry have largely come from industry reports so far (including our own), but tools equivalent to Bloomberg, AppAnnie or Pitchbook hadn’t emerged,” said Tim Merel, managing director at Digi-Capital.
The dashboard is directed at a wide variety of business-related analysis purposes including for startups and enterprise.
It includes information for business executives such as who the competition in the market are, how and what they’re doing. The dashboard also includes at-a-glance information on where money can be made, which platforms (hardware and software) currently have the best return on investment, where venture capital is going and even how much businesses in the market are estimated to be worth.
“We made Digi-Capital’s Analytics Platform for AR/VR/XR professionals to answer questions in minutes that would take them weeks, without the cost of doing it themselves,” said Merel.
To make this possible, Digi-Capital embedded much of its own data and analysis on the industry including more than 800 company profiles, 29 industry segments, and more than 50 countries and regions. Industry funding is presented in 16 stages from angel investment to IPO and revenue is displayed from 2017 to 2022, including actual and forecast values.
For venture capital and sales, the AR/VR industry has been booming and is expected to keep getting bigger. According to a Digi-Capital report from January, the industry raised a record-breaking $3 billion during 2017 in investment funding.
That same report suggested that the AR/VR industry is still in its early stages and has yet to see its biggest growth, a prediction that follows expectations from a 2017 report from Allied Business Intelligence Research Inc., which showed the VR market could reach $60 billion worldwide by 2021.
The dashboard product is sold as a service with three tiers with a per-year contract: Core, Pro and Enterprise. Each tier includes a number of logins, training and support. More expensive tiers increase the number of simultaneous logins, training for more people and briefings on the industry with Digi-Capital management.
Digi-Capital has not released details on cost, interested parties must contact the sales department for quotes.
