CertiVox Secures $1.5M for Cloud Content Security

CertiVox,a startup developing information security infrastructure-as-a- Service (IaaS), has raised $1.5 million in its Series A funding, backed by Pentech Ventures and Octopus Investments. Based in London, CertiVox provides on-demand encryption key generation, management and content distribution for the cloud. The technology offered by this web 2.0 cloud security company enables enterprises secure email and transferred files, prevents data leaks, implements  digital rights management, and launches comprehensive audit controls over secure information exchanges. The funding will be used by CertiVox to develop another Cloud-Based Content Security Technology.

Cloud security is becoming more and more important these days, due to the growing importance of the cloud itself. Be it the consumer level or the enterprise level, Cloud security has become a hot topic, especially when we are hearing ongoing developments around security threats. One of the recently attacked were EMC’s security division, RSA, which found itself hacked. The company also filed with Securities and Exchange Commission that intruders managed to get pass through “a popular and widely used anti-hacking technology” and actually extract certain data from RSA’s systems.

Google is also not untouched, as Google Docs along with formbuddy.com, a document and e-mail hosting service are also prone to Cloud phishing. Reportedly, OCR Document Management and Berry Forms may also be vulnerable.
