Businesses Reluctant to Use Mobile Analytics Tools
Localytics, the mobile app analytics provider has raised another round of funding, worth $2.5 million this time, from Launchpad Venture Group, New York Angels and Hub Angels, completing the $3 million series. Some of the most prominent customers of Localytics are News Corp., Skype, Bluefly and Turner Broadcasting, all using the mobile analytics platform for real-time reports on how customers use their applications on Android, Blackberry, iPad and iPhone devices. The funding marks an important development in this sector, as big data and subsequent analytics are fundamental aspects that will shape the mobile market, advertising and customer interaction.
Localytics introduces a new feature today as well: a custom charting feature to build and share customized reports and additional analytics at $95 per month for Android, BlackBerry, iPad, iPhone and Windows Phone 7 applications.
“The need for mobile app analytics is exploding, fueled by continued growth in smartphones and the huge impact of Apple’s iPad, Samsung’s Galaxy and other tablets,” said Raj Aggarwal, CEO of Localytics. “This new financing will enable us to better meet that demand, as well as expand our product portfolio to meet the needs of the mid-market.”
This type of information offered by Localytics and similar services is extremely valuable for businesses and their market growth, due to their accuracy and specificity. Yet, according to a report from Heavy Reading Mobile Networks Insider, while more than 90 percent of companies that provide mobile services say they want to incorporate mobile analytics into their business analysis ‘to improve process efficiencies and eliminate costs’, but less than 20 percent currently do so.
Market players know very well the potential of mobile analytics services, and act in this direction. The latest move comes from Cedegim Relationship Management and MeLLmo that will join their capabilities in offering mobile CRM analytics to Life Sciences organizations worldwide.
“We’re excited to integrate Roambi technology with Cegedim Relationship Management’s Mobile Intelligence to deliver the most dynamic, intuitive and insightful CRM analytics to Life Sciences customers,” commented Santiago Becerra, chairman and co-founder of MeLLmo. “Together, Roambi and Mobile Intelligence give Life Sciences’ commercial teams a powerful mobile analytics tool that allows them to analyze critical stakeholders’ data on-the-go right from their iPads or iPhones, and generally build more effective relationships.”
