HP’s Biggest Executive Shuffle of the Year

Hewlett-Packard announced on Monday that it has gone through one of the biggest staffing changes in its history. Many execs, some of which are among the most associated with HP are involved, including Ann Livermore. Livermore, who has been with HP for 29 years, will step down as the head of the company’s enterprise business and will be added to the company’s board. Pete Bocian, EVP and chief administrative officer, is leaving the company effective immediately since the position is being eliminated, and the list goes on.

“The chief administrative officer role is being eliminated. Randy Mott, chief information officer, is also leaving effective immediately; the company will conduct a search for his successor.”

Bill Veghte, EVP for software and Jan Zadek, EVP for Global Sales will report to Apotheker. Dave Donatelli, EVP for Enterprise Servers, Storage, Networking and Technology Services, will also report to Apotheker.  In fact, Donatelli passed by theCube quite a bit lately, most recently when he discussed how networking will play in with the company’s  growth rate, among other topics that are of great importance now that he’s rising in rank.

He also told Wikibon.org’s co-founder David Vellante and SiliconAngle.com founder John Furrier at HP Discover 2011 conference how his company is very keen on aggressively maintaining its leadership position in the storage market.

Hewlett-Packard made some additional staffing changes yesterday, and also announced Todd Bradley, EVP for the Personal Systems Group, will lead cross-business initiatives focused on expanding HP’s market share in China. Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group will spearhead similar efforts in India.

As the cloud industry feels its way through new markets, we’re seeing a number of top-level changes across several companies.  Cisco’s made quite a few changes amongst executives, now that it’s following a new mantra company-wide.  And late last month, cloud backup and data protection solutions provider FalconStor made some staffing changes of its own.  The company hired two new execs: former Hewlett-Packard exec Donna Williams now serves as VP of worldwide technical support, and former Symantec director Abbas Meghjee is now VP of North America sales.
