Hadoop Finds a New Challenger by the Name of Lexis Nexis
Hadoop, one of the biggest names in the open source cloud market, is able to work with tons of nodes and petabytes of data. With plenty of opportunities within this space, competition also stiffens. HPCC Systems, a known alternative for Hadoop, has found a perfect match with LexisNexis. What used to be just the largest computer-based legal research firm is now gathering leading technologies to deliver topical content, information analytics and workflow solutions. In addition, LexisNexis tapped HPCC to deliver new risk solutions in the market. They are also seeing LexisNexis capabilities that are obvious weaknesses of Hadoop, in terms of technology, the amount of data in can process at once, and its business model.
