The Private Cloud Sees Big Growth, Drives New Services
A new report released by cloud host StratoGen says that the second quarter has seen a whopping 82 percent growth in private cloud deployments. The company pointed towards the much wider trend of cloud adoption, noting that despite of some outages in the past few months (such as the Google and Amazon Web Services debacles), companies are still very much boosting demand. StratgoGen also cited that cloud hosting with account for 80 percent of all web hosting services by 2020.
“Mark Lewis, Business Development Manager said “Business confidence in the cloud has far exceeded our expectations in recent months. We’ve seen more and more companies taking on complex cloud migration projects in a bid to enhance service levels and performance.”
The private cloud is accelerating in growth just like the rest of the cloud industry. Business Technology Partners leverages this trend, announcing a new private cloud service for the SMB market. Customers can get BTP to built their private cloud, integrate their deployment with third party offerings, or choose to setup a hybrid cloud instead. The company offers its TeraCare fixed-priced support service as a part of this bundle.
We’ve also had an update from Voip-Pal.Com. The VoIP solutions provider is now hosting its platform, including iPhone and Android apps, on the SaSperBox Cloud Computing Server. SaSperBox is a cloud host that has been around for five years.
Larger companies having been venturing to the pirate cloud as well. As a part of a partnership, Microsoft and Fujitsu introduced the Microsoft Hyper-V Cloud Fast Track program. The offering is a pre-configured private cloud that customers can deploy much more rapidly than other offerings. Some of the largest players in the IT industry are devoting a sizable portion of their business to selling personal cloud deployments, though it seems that a much newer player is moving forward at a much faster rate.
Nirvanix, a startup that offers a “public hybrid cloud” is gaining a lot of momentum thanks to its innovative offering. One of its most recent high-profile customers is giant Front Porch Digital.
