Fair share. This is what President Barrack Obama would like Americans to give in order to revive the economy and pull down unemployment rates, which have hit all-time lows in the last few months, putting his re-election bid in so much danger.  Today, he joins social networking cum job search platform LinkedIn for a town hall meeting to discuss…you guessed it–jobs.

The head of the state is pretty optimistic despite the economic debacle the whole nation is going through at present. He noted that job plans would specifically jumpstart the much awaited economic growth.

Obama: “Pay It Forward!”

President Obama’s one hour session at LinkedIn’s town hall meeting revolved around the “pay it forward” theme, relating back to what has transpired in the 90’s when Silicon Valley was raised from ground up and become one of the most successful spaces in the United States.  He urged those who have been given the privilege to enjoy scholarships in top universities and public schools to give back and invest in promoting top calibre education system and trainings.

The President closes with the remarks of setting aside politics and focusing on supporting movements to close unemployment gaps: “If we don’t prepare our people with the skills they need, we’re going to have problems. If we don’t get our fiscal house in order in a way that’s fair and equitable…we’re going to have problems.”

Education System and Unemployment Rate Goes Hand-in-Hand

The leader of the most powerful nation in the world, Obama speaks on how education affects unemployment. He shares, “When we were at our peak it was in large part because we were doing a better job than anyone else in the world in training our workers. The rest of the world is catching up.” He also expressed disappointment over the low high school and college graduates compared to booming countries in Asia including China and India.

Randomly Hand-Picked Audience: “President, Would you please raise my taxes?”

A Silicon Valley resident who is self-proclaimed unemployed but wealthy enough to remain in the area via a search engine start-up investment, asked the President to augment his taxes.  The President seemed pleased with the gesture of this rich by-choice unemployed guy. However, he reiterated that his administration does not want to punish those who are at the top.

From the room where the town hall meeting was being held, this question earned applause, but from the social networking sites, the anonymous guy who refused to name the “search engine” harnessed negative side remarks—ranging from being planted, pre-selected to wretched.  Twitter soon erupted with more question, and while his identity still puzzles many, one thing is for sure: this guy’s going to be at the banner headlines of news sites and be the subject of scrutiny in various online forums this week.
