Jump Desktop Tops Best iPad and Android Tablet Business Apps

This week brings with it another five iPad and Honeycomb business apps worth considering.  Jump Desktop takes the number one spot, thanks to some prime feature capabilities.  The virtual desktop client got the highest rating in its category from O’Reilly’s “Best iPhone Apps list, and comes with multi-protocol support. It offers better performance, and several other benefits that some of its competitors lack.

iPad

Jump Desktop

Jump Desktop packs a bunch of interesting features that perhaps differentiate it from others. That includes the fact the app taps into the iPad’s second core whenever it connects to a remote desktop; it doesn’t require additional software to be installed and automatically configures connectivity settings. Jump also has a few security settings and supports remote printing.

ScanBizCards Business Card Reader

ScanBizCards is a tablet business card reader that offers functionality extended beyond just the surface features, including backup, the option to sync saves cards between devices and web-based access. The developer claims that double sided card support, one of the app’s functions, is not available in any other competing offering.

Air Sharing

Air Sharing for iPad is a streamlined file and document sharing and editing software ideal for on-the-go users that need efficiency to be a requirement. The app comes with a lot of useful features while not over-crowding the interface.

Android

Wyse PocketCloud for Android

PocketCloud is a mobile suite that extends Android with everything from device sync to remote desktop access to additional navigation features that make it easier for users to tap through apps and documents. It recently extended its support to Cius, Cisco’s Honeycomb-powered enterprise tablet.

Notes

Notes is a Honeycomb-optimized note-taking app that offers simplicity under password protection. A sleek UI design makes it easier to make memos.  Note-taking tools are better on tablets especially if you have a stylus, better replicating the benefits of physical pen and paper.
