Apple Inc. has been battling mobile manufacturers who use Android as their operating system.  Apple already took Motorola Mobility, Samsung, HTC and others to court–though Samsung might have taken the greatest hit from Apple.

The wrath of Apple grows roots from Steve Jobs himself.  According the Associated Press who got a copy of the authorized Jobs’ biography, Jobs’ vowed to take down Android.

Jobs was quoted saying, “I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this,” and “I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong.”

What Jobs said about Android conveyed strong emotions and you have to wonder, “Where is all the anger coming from?”  For those of you not familiar, Google and Apple had a bittersweet relationship.  In 2001, Eric Schmidt served as Google’s CEO.  In 2006, he was elected to be a part of Apple’s board of directors.  Then in 2007, Google launched the Android OS, just months after Apple launched the first iPhone.  Google and Apple’s relationship began to crumble.  Google tried building apps for Apple but Apple kept turning them down.  By 2009, Schmidt resigned from Apple’s board.

“I was on the board until I couldn’t stay on the board anymore,” Schmidt said in an interview on Bloomberg.

Jobs felt greatly betrayed by what happened.  Schmidt was a member of Apple’s board when Google launched the Android platform.  It was a sneak attack, launching a copycat of Apple’s OS.  It’s not a surprise why Jobs was willing to do and give everything he and Apple has just to crush Android.

Going after every company using the Android platform could be a long and daunting task.  But if that was the dying wish of the company’s co-founder, would you have the guts to ignore that?

Jobs’ authorized biography was written by Walter Isaacson, former CNN chairman and Time Magazine managing editor.  This will shed light to Jobs’ very private life.  The book features Jobs talking about cancer, treatment, his vendetta against Android, drug use and his search for his biological family.  The book will be out on October 24th.
