Social Startup Echo Hires Two Key Execs
Echo hired Ron Bouganim and Kristin Hersant to fill two management positions, as the start-up seeks to strengthen its internal structure. Echo provides real-time solutions to consumer-facing brands. That consists social integration for the most part, in the form of add-ons that are designed to boost user enhancement and traffic. Echo claims that it serves over 1 billion streams per month.
Bouganim will be assuming the role of VP of corporate development. He brings a very impressive resume that includes over $300 million in venture capital he helped to raise, and no less than seven successful M&As under his belt. He has a double major in Accounting and International Business from McGill University.
“I have successfully started, advised and angel invested in dozens of start-ups during the past 17 years and Echo has one of the most exciting market opportunities I have come across to date,” said Ron Bouganim, vice president of corporate development and partnerships for Echo.
“I look forward to helping Echo drive adoption of the real-time web by significantly expanding our marketplace of Echo platform developers and partnering with best in class channel resellers.”
Kristin Hersant is the second new exec that joins Echo, and will be serving as head of marketing. She has worked in various marketing-related positions throughout a decade and a half, most recently at StrongMail.
Echo’s latest staffing update follows a similar announcement from Salesforce yesterday. Vivek Kundra, who holds the most notable title of former CIO for the United States has joined the cloud provider as its new EVP of emerging markets. He was one of the strongest backers of cloud and analytics adoption in the government, and has participated in last Dreamforce event as a member of the government panel.
