How To: Stay Abreast of What’s Important at #CES2010

Keeping abreast of what’s going on at CES this year (as any year) is difficult, even for me (and I have two helpers and a dozen or so folks on the ground feeding me information). We have put together a number of resources here at SiliconANGLE that will help you continue to keep abreast of ...

SiliconANGLE Out at #CES2010 en Masse!

As I said earlier, it seems that this year’s CES has generated a great deal more buzz than the CES events of years past (I remember in 2007, a strong debate as to whether the event had jumped the shark completely). I just wanted to give you, the readers and community, the heads up on ...

The Definitive List of Live Video Streams for #CES2010

Last month, if you’d asked us, we’d have no idea the excitement that CES seems to have generated amongst the tech community in general and our SiliconANGLE community in particular.  It definitely seems above and beyond any years in recent memory. In response to that excitement, Art Lindsey and I have been working in preparation ...

Why Twitter Should Worry about Seesmic’s Acquisition of Ping.FM

Earlier today, Seesmic announced the acquisition of Ping.FM, a service that allows folks to streamline updates to around fifty different social networks as easily as they update any one of their social networks. Though Loic would probably deny it (because he’s one of the least confrontational people I know, and wouldn’t want to frame it ...

SiliconANGLE’s Highlights of 2009 [Popularity Contest]

2009 was an interesting year.  A lot of folks have made mention that 2009 wasn’t the greatest year for many of us, but in my mind, it was an interesting year of recovery.  Personally, I started the year off strong by a move away from a small town into a city of respectable size (Dallas), ...

After a variety of different confirmations of different types, we all whiled away the time in our respective corners on how we all figured the Nexus One ...

Why I Have Trouble Caring about iPhone Availability in NYC

I’ve been playing news item avoidance all day on the iPhone / AT&T / NYC story all day.  In case you somehow missed it, here’s what happened: Someone discovered that you can no longer buy the iPhone on the AT&T website if you live in New York City.  Fake Steve Jobs and others widely publicized ...

Headlines Proclaiming Things Dead are Dead [Recursion Error]

I was just going to comment on this as a shared item, but I don’t think I can keep this rant of Andy Rooney-ish proportions down to few enough words to work for that little text box. There’s an article by PR blogger Adam Singer that my buddies Mark Dykeman and Louis Gray shared out ...

Merry Christmas Eve [No News is Good News]

As you’ve probably heard me say many times, if you’re a regular reader of these pages at all, we like to think of ourselves here at SiliconANGLE as less of a news blog and more of a group of thought leaders. As editor of a site full of thought leaders, monitoring their published thoughts is ...

What is a Cybersecurity Czar and is Dr. Howard Schmidt Qualified to Be It?

I was as shocked as most folks who’ve been following the tech goings on of the Obama Administration when I read the surprise announcement this morning’s naming of the President’s Cybersecurity Coordinator. The man tapped for the job was a certain Howard Schmidt, former Chief Security Officer for Microsoft, and eBay. My first thought this ...
