Deeper Dive on the $350 Sixth Sense

While browsing the newly redesigned Engadget, I caught a story about the MIT project “Sixth Sense” we talked about a bit on Tuesday.  I’ve since done a little bit more digging on the project and extended an invitation to the members of the project to talk more about what they’re working on here at SiliconANGLE ...

An Updated Guide on How To Hit the Retweet Button

Updated: At the bottom – I added how to turn off retweets from someone you follow. While some are seeing a slightly skewed version of their friend timeline, I seem to be part of the lucky few to get the new version of the Re-Tweet interface a bit early. Since I’m one of the few ...

Yesterday, I read over at NewTeeVee that CNN has laid off all of it’s news staff for their online channel – information that came serendipitously to NTV blogger Liz Gannes just as the day was wrapping up on the NewTeeVee conference: Just as I got off the stage at NewTeeVee Live with CNN Worldwide VP ...

Run a Community? You’ll Need These Three Essential Elements of the Real Time Web.

Even though the news is relatively old at this point, I’ve continued to noodle the discussion Steven Hodson and I had Tuesday night in the aftermath of the widely trumpeted news that LinkedIn would offer the ability to sync user status messages with Twitter. The discussion we had ran well past the usually designated 20-minute ...

Eric Schmidt Answers Our Questions as to Why They Acquired AdMob

Eric Schmidt gave a very juicy soundbite laden interview to Bloomberg this morning, mostly on the topic of the AdMob acquisition, but with some interesting insight on the mobile ad market as a whole. Om Malik titled his interview summary aptly  “Google CEO Eric Schmidt: Why We Bought AdMob,” which of course got my attention ...

Google Releases a Programming Language

I just got an announcement from Google regarding something that sounds really groundbreaking – the release of a new programming language.  They’re calling it Go. I’d love to give you some deep analysis of what this means or the quality of the language, but I haven’t had time to really pour over the codex and ...
