Solving the Dilemma of eBook Reader Usage

Whenever fellow SiliconANGLE editor Sean P. Aune and I get together on a podcast, we end up solving one of the world’s problems.  Last night, we tackled the eBook reader dilemma. Valleywag’s Ryan Tate put out a blog post trumpeting Time, Inc’s intentions to come up with their own e-book reader. The post was entitled ...

Paying for Content and Tiering Your Services: Lessons for Old and New Media

Google, according to reports at the Niemen Journalism Lab, is “developing a micropayment platform that will be available to both Google and non-Google properties within the next year,” which most likely is an attempt to allay (well placed) fears with Old Media organizations that their businesses aren’t sustainable long term. Newsprint organizations aren’t the only ...

Is Twitter Slouching Towards URL Shortening or Simply Fishing for Click-Trends

According to a post by Allen Stern over at CenterNetworks, Twitter is once again tracking link data.  Given the status of our server, I’m unable to link back to my idea for Twitter to create between $500 million and $1.5 billion in yearly revenue, but the upshot of the plan entailed them doing something very ...

Examiner Acquires NowPublic, Set to Become Leader in Curated and Hyperlocal Content

One of my favorite companies to follow in the crowdsourced news business has always been NowPublic. My infatuation began with an interview I did with their CMO Mike Tippet sometime last September. The one feature that seemed far ahead of it’s time still today were the tools they created to curate data live as it ...

The Influentials Report (http://www.webecologyproject.org/2009/09/analyzing-influence-on-twitter/) I have been pretty out of the loop for most of yesterday, so I’m not sure if this was a big meme yet or not… but if you haven’t read the Influentials Report yet and you are looking at Twitter as an essential part of … anything … you should read ...
