TiVo Finally Implements Podcast Playback – The Right Way This Time

I just stumbled upon some very interesting news that is pretty important, though most might skim past it at first blush.  The headline that was carried on this story in most outlets was pretty misleading, as it was in the Don Reisinger’s CNet article: “TiVo adds new Web videos, option to watch niche content.” Knowing ...

Teens WILL Tweet: Give Them a Minute

My old boss Pete Cashmore, and dozens of other sources, have all talked a bit about the new Nielsen study showing that the majority of Twitter’s userbase growth hasn’t occurred in the teen demographic. Of course, the easy analysis to make is to simply say in your headline: “Teens Don’t Use Twitter,” tap up a ...

Things continue to move fast and furious here at SiliconANGLE, and we’ve been pushing the boundaries of what we’ve decided to term as ‘peer blogging,’ as well as the limits of our current hosting provider. Regarding site stability and meteoric growth… First, the important stuff: you may have noticed a bit of a slowdown last ...

James Whatley, TCUK and WordPress’s Scheduled Posts

I have a theory – 80% of the drama started between the major team-run technology blogs is due to the feature in WordPress known as “Schedule Post.” Y’see, while I love WordPress dearly, one of the least reliable features in the system is the draft / post scheduling system.  I’ve been working on a daily ...

My Blog Will Crush You [Blogging for Crocs]

A tip of the hat to Amanda Congden over at Sometimes Daily for talking about our take what Amanda dubbed the “bratty blogger blackmail incident.” I was alerted of the incident’s crossover to other spheres of conversation by the fact that it showed up in Amanda’s podcast, and was then pulled into the conservative political ...

Apparently, James Whatley has Quit SpinVox [DO NOT READ THIS EVER]

At some point over the weekend, a post at Techcrunch UK buy Milo Yiannopolous was pushed out detailing the departure of “social media guy James Whatley” from SpinVox.  I’d provide you a link to the post, but it has since been unpublished.  Here’s the post in it’s entirety and unedited: [HOLD – DO NOT PUBLISH] ...

Digg Dialogg: Kevin Rose Talks to Marissa Mayer

You can say many things about the Digg community (and in the past, I’ve been known to say … well, many things), but you can’t say that they don’t come up with interesting questions for the frequent high-profile guests on Kevin Rose’s Digg Dialogg series. Here are the questions: “Do you ever get disturbed at ...

Could the Zune Be Reaching the End of Its Life-Cycle?

James Lewin over at Podcasting News commented on a Marketwatch report today that indicated the Zune could be ending towards it’s end of life cycle soon. Microsoft’s weak quarterly earnings report is pushing some to call on the company to abandon its once-hyped “iPod-killer”, the Zune. According to a Marketwatch story, investors think it’s time ...

BlogHer ‘09: The Weaponizing of the Blogosphere

Earlier this week, Liz Strauss posted here at SiliconANGLE about what has emerged as the prevailing theme of the now-finished BlogHer conference: Swag. The predilection with free stuff has popped up everywhere in almost every post-conference wrap-up I’ve seen, something that’s no doubt been somewhat of a disappointment to conference organizers. The meme has made ...
